Product Review: Bakers Delight - Passionfruit and White Chocolate Scones

9

Category :

When offered to try the new Baker’s Delight white chocolate and passionfruit scones, I jumped at the opportunity. I had first been introduced to the scones from Baker’s Delight when I did a 6 week contract at BIC by the staff there. My favorites became the white chocolate and berry, as well as the chocolate chip and coconut.

Even though I’m not a huge fan of white chocolate, Baker’s Delight must use a very nice brand, as it works so well in their muffins.  Hamsley and I set off to buy some and came home to review them a few weeks ago. BUT since we moved house, and are without internet, currently living in the land of boxes; blogging isn’t something I can do very easily until life returns back to normal!

Hamsley and I both really enjoyed this variety of scone. I slightly warmed the scones in the microwave, which made the scones nice and warm, with the chocolate slightly melted.
They are quite sweet on their own; my work my said they were actually too sweet for her, and couldn't finish her scone in 1 sitting.
She also commented on the passionfruit seeds in the scone. If you don't like the added crunch of the seeds then you might not enjoy these as much. We however, didn't really mind the seeds.

I tried mine with jam, I wanted to put cream on as well as you would with a traditional scone, but the cream we tried whipping ended up getting spoiled. I think it would have been nice with both the jam and cream.

My favourite flavour is still the chocolate coconut scone, but this comes in a close second.
Try one today at your local Baker's Delight, or check out their other flavours on their website: www.bakersdelight.com.au/

I looove the berry & white choc scones and totally agree about the white choc being good quality. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that they weren't dry in the slightest. Yum. Definitely keen to try the passionfruit ones. Will have to keep an eye out!

White choc and passionfruit sounds like a nice combo.

Though, one thing that was a little unexpected was the scones were pretty flat. I always picture scones to sit tall. I presume that doesn't affect the taste any, though? :)

I'm not a pastry kinda guy, but these things are just delicious, in an unhealthy kinda way.

Passion fruit and white chocolate are my favs of the range by far.

Randomly I actually know a coupla people that work at bakers, I'll pass this post on, I'm sure they'll be happy to know you're happy.

Hi Esz - I think I might have to get another scone for afternoon tea... craving chocolate!!

Hi Simon @ the heart of food - Yes, I was surprised they were so flat. I forgot to mention that, probably the stress of moving house! Does not affect the taste at all! ;)

Hi Simon - Yes, unhealthy kinda way... but it's nice to treat yourself =D

These sound delicious, even if they are flat. Lovely ...

I love white choc. I love scones. This sounds like a match made in heaven. mmmm. scones... i dont eat them enough!

My friend used to work at Baker's Delight and she'd come to uni with bags of chocolate mud scones and scones of other varieties - they were pretty great during a long boring lecture! I've never tried this flavour, but the scones look a bit flat?! Or is that just me?!
Btw, I know this might be really late - but Im loving your new layout :D

Ooh I passed by Baker's Delight and saw these scones. I meant to go back and get one but I had to dash. Good to know what they're like! :)
