Ok, ok; I admit, it's not technically food, but still... it's something from my own private collection for once!
My aunty, uncle and cousins recently went to Malaysia, and brought me back some food related presents! How cute is the little hamburger magnet? The scary part about Mr. Hamburger is, he smells like a sweet bun you'd most likely find at Breadtop, or a similar Asian bakery.
They also brought me back a "face bun" in the shape of a Swiss roll. It scarily also smells delicious!!

This month's weird food is yet another food that should not belong in a can..... bread.
There is nothing better than a fresh loaf of bread. Especially the light fluffy centre and crispy crust. Nothing compares to a fresh slice or a fresh roll does it?

.... think again!

What would make you want to eat this? Sure the picture on the can doesn't look too bad, I mean I wouldn't even mind trying it based on the picture on the can. But it wasn't until I saw this picture that made me change my mind..

Kinda just looks like cake, but I'm not too sure. I wouldn't mind giving this one a taste, but one of the results was: "Is this more prison food?"
There was quite alot of good feedback, including "Once it's heated up, though, it's not bad at all. More like a really bland muffin than bread."

This month's weird food is another product you wouldn't usually find in a can, bacon.
And before you ask, yes it's American.

The product boosts a shelf life of 10 years. I'm not sure I'd want to be eating anything that is 10 years old, not even chocolate! I can understand the appeal for taking this if you are going camping, but why would you stock it in your pantry when you can get good, fresh bacon?

I think I will start a monthly post that revolves around the concept, weird foods.

Last month we saw that you can get a whole cooked chicken in a can. A lot of you were completely grossed out by the idea of it, and likened it to something an alien would give birth to. I'm glad I was not the only one who came to that conclusion.

This month, I'm a little ashamed to be half Swiss because the Swiss have put a hamburger in a can!

Stays fresh for up to a year? The picture might look pretty good but I doubt it is going to look that good when it's been in a can for 1 day, let alone a year!

I'm going to have to pass on this one too, I like my hamburgers made fresh to order, not sitting on a shelf waiting to be eaten.

First of all let me say I DID NOT DO THIS!! My friend Emma forwarded me an email and I couldn't believe how wrong this is! Whole cooked chicken... in a can.

The subject of the email was "American Chicken - who said the Yanks have no taste ...."
Now I know I have quite a few American readers, and I love America.. but seriously what were they thinking with this one?? Has anyone had whole cooked chicken from a can?
